Karachi, Pakistan, October 18, 2004 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, will deliver a comprehensive Industrial IT automation solution to National Refinery Ltd. to improve the efficiency of the high-pressure steam boiler in their refinery plant.The scope of supply comprises a DCS (distributed control system) that includes Control IT with AC 800F controllers, plus burner management and safety systems. The order also includes engineering, design, construction, training, test, commissioning and start-up.ABB's solution will help National Refinery improve generation capacity by 10%.
The automatic boiler control system will increase the safety and reliability of the system as well as reduce emissions and operation costs along with the fuel consumption.
