Artila Serial-to-Ethernet Gateway Enables Browser-based Monitor and Control
the Aport-211W enables RS-232/422/485 serial devices to be monitored and controlled through standard Web browsers without the need to install dedicated application software. The Aport-211W provides a transparent data channel between a serial device and the TCP/IP network, making the serial device accessible using standard TCP/IP protocols. The Aport-211W can function as a TCP server, TCP client, or even a UDP node on a network.

The Aport-211W is the World’s First Serial-to-Ethernet Gateway with 64KB User Web Page Space

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- April 2006 -- Artila Electronics Co., Ltd., an emerging force in the industrial device networking field, announced its new mini-mighty Serial-to-Ethernet Gateway -- the Aport-211W, which incorporates Artila’s unique Web@Module technology enabling RS-232/422/485 serial devices to be monitored and controlled through standard Web browsers, anywhere, anytime, without the need to install dedicated application software. The Aport-211W provides a transparent data channel between a serial device and the TCP/IP network, making the serial device accessible using standard TCP/IP protocols.

The Aport-211W can function as a TCP server, TCP client, or even a UDP node on a network. In addition, the Aport-211W comes with its own mini-web server, plus 64KB of Flash memory space to store user web pages. With convenient Java applet or ActiveX controls, users can easily implement simple browser-based device monitoring and control. The Aport-211W also provides eight TTL-compatible, digital I/O pins by means of its command port, allowing users to perform remote On/Off controls through LAN/WAN.Locate, configure, and manage all Aport-211Ws on the same network segment with the included powerful Windows utility.
