February 20, 2011 — Falcon Electric announced SVR-PL Series ac power line regulator. Available in five power models, it operates in extreme temperature environments from −22°F to +149°F (−30°C to 65°C), making it ideal for use in variable high and low temperature applications where maintaining a constant temperature is required. It has optimized cooling and a high-temperature LED display made from material that is more tolerant of lower and higher temperatures. In addition, internal components have been enhanced to handle more extreme temperature conditions.
The solid-state SVR-PL 1kVA, 1.5kVA, 2kVA, 2.5kVA and 3kVA models provide clean, regulated, sinewave output power even when operating from an unregulated incoming ac power source, such as from an on-site generator. This gives users the highest level of protection against a wide spectrum of power problems, in contrast to the typical power conditioner, which relies on a tap-switching transformer to crudely regulate the output voltage. The SVR-PL can be configured as a frequency converter for worldwide power applications.
Accepting a 50/60Hz input and providing a fixed 60Hz or 50Hz output, the SVR-PL supplies a tightly regulated output of ±2% and excellent extended brownout protection. In addition, optional batteries may be installed inside the SVR-PL that were specifically selected due to their ultra-wide operational temperature range of -40ºF to 176ºF (-40ºC to 80ºC), far in excess of the maximum 149ºF SVR-PL specification. The batteries have a 10-year service life rating when operated in a normal ambient temperature environment of 72ºF. The SVR-PL is equipped with an NFPA-70, NEC 645-11 compliant Remote Emergency Power Off (REPO) interface assuring easy integration.
Remote output receptacle control is an option to REPO, allowing the load segment outlets to be remotely controlled using a wire connected, remote switch. Prices range from $2,590 for the 1kVA model (SVR1K PL-1) to $4,390 for the 3kVA model (SVR3K-PL-1).
