November 26, 2013 - Honeywell announced Zio Lite wall module that utilizes Sylk technology to reduce installation time for contractors. Zio Lite uses Sylk technology to make it easy for contractors to add peripheral devices to controllers, such as wall modules, sensors, actuators, and I/O modules. This helps contractors do more with less while significantly reducing installation time. With its sleek design and easy-to-use interface, the Zio Lite offers temperature, humidity, and CO2 sensing all on only two wires. In the past, similar products had as many as eight to 12 wires, requiring longer installation times.
Zio Lite can help HVAC contractors install more jobs faster with the Honeywell Spyder, and decrease labor hours required for each job and drive a higher profit. Other key features of the Honeywell Zio Lite include:
- Integrated CO2, temperature and humidity sensors combined into one model, which reduces number of units on the wall;
- Integrated CO2 sensor enables indoor air quality to be met and demand-control ventilation strategies to be implemented, reducing operating costs; and
- Easy-to-use interface to adjust the set point, temperature and more using state-of-the-art CapSense technology.
Sylk is a two-wire polarity-insensitive bus that provides power and communication between a Sylk-enabled controller, such as Honeywell’s Spyder controller to a Sylk-enabled device, like Zio Lite without having to run multiple wires and use up inputs and outputs (I/O) on the controller.
