EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – August 26, 2004 – Chainflex® CF21 and CF27 high-flex servo cables from igus® Inc. supply power for factory automation, performing through millions of cycles, under long or short travel conditions and at a small bend radius of 7.5 times the outer diameter of the cable.

All igus Chainflex cables are designed for installation in Energy Chain® cable carriers and withstand the stress of tight bending radii and moving applications to deliver longer extended life at a lower cost. Chainflex CF21 and CF27 both assume a similar conductor construction of four power conductors and one or two signal pairs. They both meet industry standards with UL, CSA and CE approval. They are oil-resistant, flame-retardant and UV-resistant.CF21 is an all-around, low-cost servo cable with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer jacket.

CF27 has a polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket which is ideal for applications requiring a high level of abrasion-, oil- and chemical-resistance. It can also withstand a wider range of temperature than CF21, from -4 to +176 degrees Fahrenheit and is available at a reduced diameter. Igus also offers Chainflex high-duty encoder cables CF11 and CF211 to round out its servo-application solution. The complete line of Chainflex cables includes more than 600 sizes and styles. All are available from stock with no minimum order or cut charges.

Igus Inc., founded in 1985 and based in East Providence, R.I., develops and manufactures industry-leading plastic cable carriers, continuous-flex cables, plastic bearings and linear guide systems. With more than 28,000 products available from stock, the company meets the motion control and machinery component needs of customers worldwide.
