What does a switch cabinet designer want from his components? They should be small, light and also operate at high temperatures. The Munich based company MGV Stromversorgun-gen has now succeeded in shrinking a DIN-rail power supply with an output of 240 watts to a width of 45 mm, weighing only 600 g and operating at up to +70°C.
The "SUPER SLIM" SPH240 power supply is only 45mm wide and offers 240 watts at highly-stable output voltages of 24V at 10A or 48V at 5A. With overall dimensions of 45x120x110mm³ , its volume output reaches 350W/dm³ - unprecedented on the rail-mounted market. Its flexible mounting is also new - on a DIN-rail, on the wall or crosswise on a board, the SPH240 can be twisted and turned as you wish. Thanks to its extended temperature range of between -25°C and +70°C, it is also suitable for outdoor use. In spite of its small volume, it has a high buffer capacity with a hold-up time of 40ms in the event of a power failure.
The "SUPER SLIM" SPH240 offers maximum safety, having been tested according to EN60950, UL60950 and CSA22.2-60950, as well as being UL508 listed. Internal mains fuse, overvoltage and overload protection, as well as an overtemperature control with a switch off function ensure that neither the power supply nor connected appliances are endangered or damaged in the event of incorrect use or cooling-fan failure.
In spite of its extremely slim design, the SPH240 offers exceptional EMC properties, having superior input immission and complying even with residential output emission limits. MGV offers a wide range of DIN-rail power supplies with outputs of between 15 and 2,000 watts. All power supplies are developed and produced in Munich. And MGV offers a 3-year guarantee on all standard power supplies!
