June 11th, 2013 - Perle System introduces PoE Ethernet Extenders, which provide a way to expand Ethernet data transmission up to 10,000 feet over copper wiring and provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) to standards based PoE compliant devices. PoE Ethernet Extenders have a built-in Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) controller that is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3af standards. This means it can tell, through signature detection, whether or not an attached Ethernet device is PoE capable. In addition, Perle PoE Ethernet Extenders are fully compliant to operate as a Powered Device (PD) supporting end-span and mid-span power sources (PSE).
Perle offers over 130 models of Ethernet Copper Extenders that can operate in commercial grade or industrial grade (-40F to 167F / -40C to 75C) environments. All Perle Ethernet Extenders use high-end components and have an on-board microcontroller to deal with link error detection and recovery.
