IXXAT will also offer an ISA PC interface card for CAN and CANopen in future. For this purpose, the iPC-I 165 card from IXXAT was redeveloped in accordance with the RoHS directives and a lead-free version is now available. For developers of CAN and CANopen systems who for historical reasons or compatibility reasons are still working with ISA bus systems, the iPC-I 165 card therefore represents an alternative available in the long term. The interface card is available with one or two CAN channels. The SJA1000 chip from Philips is used as CAN controller.
With its powerful 16 bit microcontroller system, the card enables filtering, pre-processing and buffering of received messages. Transmit and receive processes can be carried out without losses even with a high message rate and bus load. The scope of supply includes the VCI driver from IXXAT for the development of customers’ own programs under Windows 2000/XP. In addition, IXXAT also offers a CANopen driver (CANopen Master API) for the interface, which allows simple implementation of customers’ own computer-aided CANopen master applications.
