Irvine, CA-----A new fiber multiplexer from TC Communications multiplexes 4-16 channels of T1/E1, one 10/100 Ethernet and four RS-232 channels over single mode (1300/1550nm) fiber.The TC8516 supports distances to more than 100 km and offers a two-way, "one fiber" communication option to maximize fiber cable usage. The Ethernet port supports non-blocking full 100Mbps bandwidth.
It is IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3x compliant. Each T1 or E1 channel is independent, transparent to the framing format and supports all applicable standards and line codes.
Optional redundant power and optics include automatic switchover for maximum reliability.Setup, diagnostics and control is accessed via Serial Console, Telnet or SNMP management ports. Diagnostics include LED indicators, LCD display, dry contact alarms and local and remote loopback.The TC8516 is available in 1U high “Rack Mount.” Fiber optic connectors are FC or SC.
Standard power is 110/230VAC with hot swappable redundant power supply slot. Optional power sources include 24VDC, -48VDC.
