LynuxWorks and Objective Interface develop secure distributed systems
ORBexpress RT now supports LynxOS-SE real-time operating system (RTOS). Developers can use both to build safe and secure military and aerospace systems. ORBexpress is based on the Real-time Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) standard that enables real-time and embedded devices in heterogeneous environments to communicate seamlessly. LynxOS-SE is POSIX and ARINC 653-1 compliant, highly desired in military and avionics applications. -
Advantech launches 48 channel digital I/O card
The PCI-1739U 48-channel digital I/O universal PCI card for both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI bus signaling starts at $195. It uses Opto-22 compatible 50-pin connectors for interfacing to many signal conditioning and termination options. -
Weidmuller revamps LED indication fuse terminals
Upgrades include a BFI (Blown Fuse Indicator) circuit, which uses a high efficiency LED that emits a bright signal throughout a complete voltage range. Because of the wide voltage range of the BFI circuits, 16 part numbers now make up what was once represented by 40. This consolidation translates to fewer items end users will have to specify due to various circuits. -
Xycom Automation launches low-power industrial PCs
The 4700 Series has an Intel M mobile processor that requires about half the wattage of most industrial PCs. Because the reduced power usage also results in less heat output, 4700 Series PCs are ideal for factory automation applications requiring NEMA sealed enclosures. The 4700 Series ships standard with a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron M processor (512K cache, 400MHz bus); 512MB DRAM, CD-ROM and WindowsXP.
